Joel McHale and Jared Fogle are hosting a live amateur casting call at Hollywood & Highland on June 16 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The winner earns an appearance in a SUBWAY® commercial and a walk down the red carpet at a movie premiere that night.

Fogle became famous as a college student who created his own weight loss program that involved eating SUBWAY® sandwiches every day for a year and walking. Ten years later he has kept the weight off and he’s leaving his “fat pants” behind – officially retiring them at the end of this year. He’s on a nationwide tour to raise awareness and funds for the Jared Foundation, an organization he founded to help fight childhood obesity. The Foundation is awarding grants to schools for fitness and nutrition programs this year.

Fans may arrive starting at 10:00 a.m. (PST) to audition on June 16. Ten randomly selected participants will do on-stage performances. One grand prize winner will lock in an appearance in an upcoming SUBWAY® commercial along with two tickets to the premiere of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Get Smart movie in Los Angeles that same night.

Everyone will have the chance to record a video audition and be eligible to have their video posted online and win additional prizes. Video auditions will be taken until 4 p.m. The first 1000 people to arrive at Hollywood & Highland will receive a Jared 10th Anniversary T-shirt or backpack.
Select video contestant entries will be uploaded to www.subwayfreshbuzz.com/la. Americans will then vote for their favorite audition each week from now until August 18. Each week a winner will receive a SUBWAY® Card. Complete rules will be available on-site or at the Web site.

Everyone has a chance to win with SUBWAY® restaurants. For those who want to play at home, consumers are invited to text the word “Jared” to SUBWAY (782929) until Aug. 10, 2008, for their own chance to be in a commercial. The text-to-win winner will be announced on Aug. 25, 2008. The text-to-win campaign also gives consumers a chance to give back. Once a text is sent, a response message will bounce back to the consumer asking them if they would like to participate in Jared’s fight against childhood obesity with a donation to the Jared Foundation (www.jaredfoundation.org).
